Artist statement:

“Chocolate Peony flowers” is a tribute to the harmony of nature and craftsmanship - an ephemeral sculpture where fine artistry meets the delicate impermanence of chocolate. Each handcrafted petal in this still life composition is made entirely of chocolate, painstakingly created flower petals one by one and arranged to resemble blooming peony flowers in full glory. The white chocolate was not coloured with food colour but as a freeze-dried Raspberry powder was dded shades of pink appeared naturally and transformed the single petals into tasty artworks. The arrangement captures the lush, layered elegance of real florals while transcending their fragility with edible art. This work exists at the intersection of culinary mastery and visual poetry. The process is intensely meditative - each flower assembled by hand, petal by petal, with a level of precision and care that few artisans in the world can achieve. Displayed atop an intricately textured dark chocolate pedestal (70% Venezuela) and framed by flowing white fabric, the composition evokes a timeless quality - one that harks back to classical still life paintings while asserting its presence in contemporary edible art. This is not just an arrangement; it is a celebration of discipline, detail, and devotion to the art form. In a world where fleeting beauty is often overlooked, this piece asks the viewer to pause and appreciate what it means to create something extraordinarily delicate, only to let it vanish - bite by bite.
